The Town of Seekonk will be holding it'a annual Rabies Clinic on Saturday, March 8th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the D.P.W. garage located at 871 Taunton Avenue.
There will be a fee of $12.00 per animal - CASH ONLY.
The Rabies clinic is open to non-residents and Seekonk animal onwers. The clinic is open to dogs, cats, and ferrets. Cats must be in a carrier and dogs on leashes.
Dr. Truesdale from Central Avenue Veterinary Hospital will be administering the vaccinations. Proceeds will benefit the Seekonk Animal Control Department.
The 2014 dog licenses will be sold at the clinic. In order to obtain a license prood of current rabies vaccination is required. License fees may be paid for using cash or a check and the fees are: spayed female/neutured male $10.00 and unspayed female/unneutered male $20.00. The 2014 dog license is due April 1, 2014 and will be late after May 21, 2014.
Curbside collection of yard waste will begin again on May 5, 2014. Yard waste collection will follow the trash collection schedule as closely as possible and will continue through May 31, 2014 Yard waste must be in brown lawn bags and placed curbside. The Transfer Station is open its regular hours for dropping off yard waste. There is no fee or permit required to drop off yard waste at the Transfer Station. However, a valid photo ID with a Seekonk address must be presented. The Transfer Station is located at 351 Fall River Avenue behind the American Legion Hall. Regular operating hours are as follows:
Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (closed from noon-12:30 for lunch)
The second and fourth Saturdays of each month from 8:00 a.m. to noon
ABSOLUTELY NO COMMERCIAL VEHICLES WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE TRANSFER STATION!
