ANNOUNCING CHANGES TO THE BULKY WASTE COLLECTION
Effective immediately Bulky Items (furniture, non-metal household items) will be collected bi-weekly on a Wednesday, rather than weekly on your scheduled trash collection day. The next collection for these types of bulky items will be on Wednesday, October 15th. Collection of appliances and electronics will remain the same and continue to be collected on the third Tuesday of each month. ANNOUNCING THE NEW AUTOMATED TRASH COLLECTION PROGRAM
The Town of Seekonk is proud to announce the new Automated Trash Collection System. Each residence participating in the Towns' trash program will receive two carts, one for Single Stream Recycling and the other for BLUE BAGS which residents MUST CONTINUE TO USE. Each residence will be mailed a flyer with all of the necessary information.
ABC Disposal will deliver carts beginning September 15, 2014, and will take approximately 3 weeks to complete the entire town. We ask that you begin using the carts immediately upon receipt.

WHAT SHOULD I DO WITH MY OLD RECYCLE BIN?
Once you receive your new carts, you can dispose of your old plastic trash and recycling bins by dropping them off at the Transfer Station located at 351 Fall River Avenue. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (closed from 12:00 to 12:30 for lunch) and the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month from 8:00 a m. to 12:00 p.m.
The Transfer Station is open its regular hours for dropping off yard waste and recyclables. There is no fee or permit required to drop off yard waste at the Transfer Station, however, a valid photo ID with a Seekonk address must be presented, no exceptions will be made The Transfer Station is located at 351 Fall River Avenue behind the American Legion Hall. Regular operating hours are as follows:
Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (closed from noon-12:30 for lunch)
The second and fourth Saturdays of each month from 8:00 a.m. to noon
ABSOLUTELY NO COMMERCIAL VEHICLES WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE TRANSFER STATION!
YARD WASTE CURBSIDE COLLECTION
Curbside collection of yard waste will begin the week of October 12, 2014 and will continue through the end of November. The collection of yard waste will follow the same schedule as your trash pick up. Any questions can be directed to the Department of Public Works at 508-336-7407.
